Samara(real name unknown) is an unknown aged female killer whale that lives at SunAsia Beluga Whale World. Her existence wasn't publicly known until 2022, thus there is little information known about her.
Vague Information
There isn't much known about SunAsia's whales. Linyi Polar Ocean World originally held four whales captive(only announcing the confirmation of two), which were all thought to be captured in 2016. However, all were moved out due to financial issues.[1][2] Two male killer whales, believed to be captured in 2016, were sent to Wuxi Changqiao Ocean Kingdom in late 2017.[3] Sometime after this move, Linyi opened without whales, and it is unknown when other two orcas, females Samara and Kyra, were sent to SunAsia Beluga Whale World. On the 24th of January, 2021, Linyi announced the second phase of their facility, which included the killer whale habitat.[4] However, the females have believed to remained there ever since the transfer.[1] There was a more permanent building being built for the whales(at SunAsia), however it is unknown where they are currently be kept(in temporary facility, on site or not).[5] Nothing else is known.
Nicknaming
Samara's real name isn't known, however, a nicknaming contest was held instead of calling her by her code name(SABWW-OO-C1603). "Samara" ended up winning in the bracket of 16 other names, with the meaning of "guardian" in Hebrew. Her name was submitted by Instagram user "spongebrooke182".
