Amaya was a 6 year old female Icelandic-Southern Resident killer whale hybrid that lived at SeaWorld San Diego. She was born on the 2nd of December, 2014 to Kalia and Ulises, and died on the 19th of August, 2021 from a gastrointestinal disease. Amaya is the great, great granddaughter of Katina, making her the youngest of the longest generation of killer whales born in captivity.
